A Fairy Song by William Shakespeare

Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire!
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon's sphere;
And I serve the Fairy Queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green;
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours;
In those freckles live their savours;
I must go seek some dewdrops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.

How are the figurative language used in the poem?
Give the specific word(s), explain what type of figurative language it is and why the poet chose to use this figurative language?

The poet has used the figurative language:
"Anaphora" = was used in the first 4 line was lend more emphasis in the poem.
"hyperbole" = was used in the 6th line to evoke strong feelings or to create a
strong impression of how fast he was moving as well as in the 8th
line express how large the cwslips are.
"personofication"= was used in line 14th, the last one, to make the cowslips
seem more lively.

I like this poem because it is short and yet it is relaxing to read. It's meaning is quite easily understood and it was write by a famous poet-William Shakespear.
